Quite often a sequel seems to be rushed and isn't as good as the first book. This second effort in the 'Time Will Tell' series shines all on it's own and is much better than the first book. Sean convinces his five-great grandson to take him back in time to meet his father. What could go wrong? In true 'time paradox' form, the answer is: everything. The way the two of them resolve metaphorical suicide is a first in any time travel book I have ever read. Kudos to the author for originality.The author has done an excellent job building the two main characters from book one as Alex becomes a little more human and Sean becomes a little less of a dick. The addition of a third character, Jane, sends the story in a welcome direction that makes me impatient to get to the next episode.
Lucky for me I got on this ride late enough that the third book has already been published and I don't have to wait.

Great story line, well developed characters. Hard to put it down...but whats a little lost sleep
Although I always thought the author was way ahead of most of his classmates, I never imagined how talented he was until read Saves Nine. I was fascinated by the plot, the history, and the unending attention to detail. This was a good read. Well done, Les!
I LOVE this series!! If you are a back to the future trilogy fan, you will love these too! Great writer with awesome imagination!! Please keep writing these!
Really enjoying this series so far. There are great characters that generate a lot of ups and downs.
Lex and Sean take on an experiment within the one Lex already has going. Lex is from far in the future and has gone back into the past to study his family and society in general. That excitement goes further into the past where Sean gets to meet his father as a teenager and his grandparents. So much DNA a d still so many questions. after all it was 1969. Jane is another part and continuation of this story? Great imagination.
"Saves Nine" by Les Lynam is the second book in his series, Time Will Tell. Imagine a visit from a relative, who happens to be your 5X great grandson. Then imagine you are a seventeen year old high school student. Got the picture. That was book 1, Before You Leap. Now imagine convincing your time-traveling great grandson to take you with him when he goes to see your father when he was in high school. And here we are. Saves Nine is imaginative, full of action, and funny. You get to meet Steffi, a computer with an attitude. Frankly, Steffi alone is worth the read, but complements the story at each step. You don't need to know more. You do need to read Saves Nine. Three day read.
I really enjoyed this second time travel adventure. The author clearly described the confusion that Sean experiences when crossing timelines. The first book Before you Leap had a conclusion that did not leave me feeling the story wasn't finished, but left room for another adventure. I was so taken with it that I had to read the next adventure and bought the book right away. Saves Nine introduces some paradox that are not resolved by the end. Unlike some readers, I don't mind continuing plots so did not feel cheated that the story is not complete yet. The primary plot of this book is completed as it relates to the timeline and the purpose of traveling back to 1969. The subplot is not done and I'm sure will become the primary plot of the next book in the series. Well developed plot and characters that I enjoyed tremendously. Definitely a five star book for me and anxious to read the next book in the series.
